At PostureSmart (UK), we take pride in our 'Orthopaedia Gold' chair, which features a distinctive tri-curved, spine-shaped backrest for excellent lumbar, thoracic, shoulder, and kidney support. Its reliable mechanism allows independent adjustments, and the standard seat combines high-density foam with memory foam and a pocket-sprung design for enhanced comfort and pressure distribution.
The Orthopaedia© sprung seat helps equalise pressure on key areas such as the sciatic nerve and pelvic girdle, helping to reduce spinal compression and improving core stability, making it ideal for long hours at workstations or control rooms.
Both the seat and backrest are crafted from high-grade moulded plywood, minimising plastic use, and the backrest includes inflatable lumbar support and detailed upholstery for a modern look.

System Overview
The heated therapy system consists of three heated pads, which can be configured during chair manufacturing to accommodate individual preferences. Typically, one panel is positioned on each side of the lumbar area, with a third panel placed at the thoracic region. However, we can position the pads in any area of the backrest, if required. The pads are powered by a replaceable lithium battery, eliminating the need for cables and thereby reducing trip hazards while providing enhanced mobility for the user. When operated at moderate heat, the battery offers up to eight hours of continuous use.

The Ortho Gold offers independently adjustable seat height, angle, and tension, plus an angle- and height-adjustable backrest with lockable settings. It supports up to 150kg and is BS 5459: Part 2:2000 certified.
An optional synchro mechanism with seat-mounted controls accommodates both right- and left-handed users, and suits individuals with mobility challenges.

Our chairs are custom-built rather than mass-produced, ensuring high standards of quality. Each chair undergoes a thorough inspection following manufacturing and before shipment. Delivery
Chairs & Leg Rests
The production time for chairs varies depending on the model and quantity, and may take up to 15 working days from the date of your order. This period includes the manufacturing process for each chair, as well as the selection of options and upholstery colours.
After your chair/s are manufactured, we ship them via carrier or van using next-day delivery. For deliveries to mainland UK, this service is either free or costs £20.00 plus VAT, depending on the manufacturer. Additional charges apply for addresses in the Scottish Highlands & Islands, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, and Isle of Man.
Chairs delivered by carrier are packaged in high-quality, sturdy boxes to eliminate any damage during transit. In the off chance there may have been damage in transit, please make sure you contact us within 2 days of delivery.
The chairs are packed carefully and securely, and as such, there is a small amount of self-assembly. These are not flat-packed, where you require tools. All components, such as arms, are already fitted with everything slotting together, so assembly is simple and speedy.
The PS06 and Xcel chairs and their variants may be delivered fully built, depending on location. All other products are generally shipped within 2/3 working days from ordering. Shipping is either by Royal Mail or other carrier on a 48-hour service.
